SEATS:MID/REAR ASSEMBLY13/03/2018

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Honda Odyssey vehicles. The second row outboard seats have a lever to fold the seatback and slide the seat forward to access the third row seats. Due to a manufacturing error, if the walk-in release lever is used to fold a fully reclined left outboard seatback forward, the seatback may stay in the unlocked position (free-folding) or unexpectedly unlock without engaging the walk-in or recliner lever.

Risk: An unlocked second row left outboard seatback increases the risk of injury to the seat occupant during a crash.

Fix: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will confirm proper operation of the second row left outboard seatback, and install a support bracket to the seat recliner. If the seatback cannot lock, dealers will replace the seatback frame assembly. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began May 7, 2018. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is X0R.

Maintenance Minder shows exact intervals based on your driving. CVT-equipped models (Civic, HR-V, Accord Hybrid) need CVT fluid service, not conventional ATF.

"Severe service" conditions (heavy towing, extreme temps, city stop-and-go) typically halve these intervals. Always consult your vehicle's owner's manual for the authoritative schedule.

FROM THERE VEHICLE WAS ONLY USING 2 GEARS (~2ND AND 5TH) AND EVERY TIME IT UP SHIFTED INTO 5TH (FROM A STOPLIGHT

Typically appears around 50K miles. Repair cost ~$500

  • ENGINE: 1. I BOUGHT A 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY AROUND NEW YEAR WITH KEYLESS IGNITION. 2. WITH THIS CAR I CAN TURN OFF THE ENGINE WITH THE CAR STILL IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. THEN I CAN OPEN THE DOORS AND WALK AWAY. AS IS THE NORM, NOTHING OBLIGES ME TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE CAR CAN BEGIN TO ROLL, ENDANGERING

Typically appears around 50K miles. Repair cost ~$500

  • BRAKES: AS I WAS TRYING TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND MY LEGS ONLY ON THE BRAKES, THE CAR STARTED ACCELERATING AND HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKES SO HARD WITH MY ENTIRE BODY WEIGHT ON IT TO MAKE IT STOP - HAD I LEFT A FRACTION LOOSE THE CAR WOULD HAVE JUST TAKEN OFF... SO SCARY AND NOT SAFE AT ALL... THE WEIRD THING

Typically appears around 50K miles. Repair cost ~$500

  • BODY/STRUCTURE: SHINY DASHBOARD REFLECTS TOO MUCH IN BOTH DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDE MIRRORS WHEN THE SUN HITS THE DASHBOARD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE OTHER CARS DRIVING BEHIND YOU WHEN TRYING TO USE THE MIRROR. THE DASHBOARD & AIR VENTS REFLECT TOO MUCH IN THE MIRROR. *TR

Typically appears around 50K miles. Repair cost ~$500
