  • I was driving about 50 MPH and suddenly my check engine light came on and the truck died and would not start. I was told that the engine failed and will need to be replaced.
  • Vehicle shudders and hesitates during acceleration from a stop and at speed. Vehicle feels like it is trying to find the correct gear which is causing the turbos to release boost pressure prematurely.
  • Throttle lag. When I step on the gas pedal, there is a hesitation or lag which the truck doesn't move forward when asked. Very, very dangerous when entering traffic. Almost caused an accident. Not good. This must be addressed before someone gets hurt or killed. This is no joke and should be taken s

Mileage figures are self-reported by owners in NHTSA complaint filings. Peak bucket = the mileage range with the most complaints for that component; it reflects when owners noticed and reported problems, not necessarily when the fault first occurred. This vehicle is under 5 years old, so most of the fleet hasn't accumulated high mileage yet — low-mileage peaks reflect fleet age, not necessarily premature failure.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BACK UP LIGHTS15/05/2025

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. Moisture may enter the reverse light assemblies and cause a light failure.

Risk: Reverse light failure may reduce visibility, and not alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is backing up, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 23, 2026. This is a phased recall. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331.Toyota's numbers for this recall are 24TB06 and 24TA06.
