  • The engine oil pump has failed. The part is available for inspection. The failed oil pump causes the engine to blow up, leaving oil and coolant behind on the road as hazards and causing our vehicle violently spin out on the road. The problem has been reproduced multiple times and claimed by bmw deal
  • Oil pump in earlier models are known to fail prematurely due to plastic internals . There is a revised oil pump that has all metal internals but those have early model vehicles with same engine have received oil pumps that fail and can be catastrophic while driving and causing injury if vehicle fail
  • Electronic oil level sensor can’t read oil level. Vehicle is currently at the mechanic shop getting the oil pump replaced. It’s costing me around $2,500 out of pocket since I don’t have a active warranty anymore.
